Breastmilk is the best for babies. The World Health Organisation recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life. Unnecessary introduction of bottle feeding or other food and drinks will have a negative impact on breastfeeding. After six months of age, infants should receive age-appropriate foods while breastfeeding continues for up to two years of age or beyond. Consult your doctor before deciding to use infant formula or if you have difficulty breastfeeding.

Introduction of complementary foods allergy

If your child has an allergic reaction to a food, there is only one thing that can help: talk to the pediatrician and see what you can do next. Even if you consistently avoid this food, you can still carefully expand your baby's menu and introduce new foods step by step. Pay attention to the tolerance of the new food in question.

By the way: You don't have to leave out any food as a preventive measure. As long as your baby doesn't show any allergic reactions, potential allergens such as milk, gluten or fish can also be on the menu. There is also no reason to delay the introduction of complementary foods. Ask your pediatrician if you are unsure.
