When your child reaches 21st month

Your child is learning

The recognition of colours is usually developed at around the age of 24 months, for instance, arranging building blocks by their colour. Patience is required here as do all the other stages of development. It will still take many months before your child can name the colours correctly, together with a better language.

What your toddler needs

You can offer your child many different flavours in the early stages of life. Although most children develop a preference for salty or slightly acidic food only during the second year of life, it helps train for a balanced and varied diet for your toddler in its later life. Vegetables are naturally sweet, with varieties such as carrots, peas or corns being popular among the children. You should also forgo the seasonings for the food since toddlers have a sharper sense of taste than adults.

Our AptaAdvantage Tip

Dental care should start as early as when the first tooth of your child starts to grow, which makes it even more important now. Caries of the milk teeth will cause your child to be very uncomfortable, at the same time it may also cause damage in the subsequent teeth as the roots of an inflamed milk tooth can interfere with the healthy development of the subsequent teeth.
