Your 40th week

Your body

If you have decided on natural birth, you will just have to wait now. Your baby will decide for themselves on when it wants to come to the world. It is not uncommon and not a problem if due date has passed up to 14 days.

Your Baby

Your baby’s skull plates have not grown together. So they can be deformed at birth, resulting in reduced head circumference and easier birth. After the birth, the head forms back. Your baby has now taken the final birth position. Most often babies are born in the posterior position (head first through the birth canal). In rare cases, babies are born in the other positions.

Our AptaAdvantage Tip

Things you should note nearing birth:

  • The mucus dissolves (bloody or mucous discharge)
  • The water bag breaks (water droplets surges out)
  • The date of labour is set. it’s time to go to the hospital.
